Appliance disposal and collection is the page for anything that does not have one of its own. Microwaves, mini ovens, a single oven, a freestanding cooker hood, a bread maker or a coffee machine all belong here. If you are not sure what to call it, send a photo and we work it out from the picture. We reply by email with one fixed price for carrying it out, loading it and disposing of it, and you pay once it is on the van.
Built-in units are welcome too, as long as they are already out of the cabinet. That covers an oven your fitter has slid out of its housing, a built-in microwave lifted from a tall unit, or a warming drawer sitting on the floor. If the main item is a cooker or full-size oven, or a dishwasher, those pages go into more detail on what to prepare. We do not collect fridges or freezers.
Small appliances are easy to forget when the big things go. A microwave left on top of a cupboard, a mini oven in a student kitchen, a slow cooker and a toaster boxed up in the garage: put them all in one photo and they go on one price. If several larger machines are leaving at the same time, our white goods collection page covers that kind of clear-out.
Appliance Removal holds an upper tier waste carrier licence, CBDU526130, registered with the Environment Agency, and a waste transfer note is yours on request. Nothing electrical belongs in a household bin, and our guide on what happens to your appliance after collection follows it from your door to the recycling line. Same-day or next-day collection is offered wherever possible, and a message first thing in the morning gives you the best chance of a slot that day.

A fixed price from one picture
Send a photo of whatever is going, however small or unusual it looks. We send one price for the job and you pay once it is loaded. If it looks different on the day, we say so before lifting.

How appliance disposal works
-
Take a picture
Photograph the appliance where it is now. If you do not know its name, the picture is enough, and a note about stairs or a lift helps.
-
Receive a price
We look at the photo and reply by email with one fixed figure for carrying, loading and disposal, whatever the appliance turns out to be.
-
Choose a slot
Pick a time when someone is in. We offer same-day or next-day collection wherever we can fit it in.
-
Hand it over
The crew carries the appliance out and loads it. You pay the quoted price once it is on board, and not before.
Why people use us
Registered and traceable
Our upper tier waste carrier licence is CBDU526130 with the Environment Agency. Ask and we give you a waste transfer note and tell you where the appliance went.
Covered while we work
Public liability insurance up to £5 million and employers' liability of £10 million apply on every job, even a single microwave.
Used to the odd ones
More than 15 years and over 500 jobs mean an unusual appliance rarely surprises us. The photo tells us what it is and how to carry it.
Kept out of landfill
Electricals go to a licensed treatment facility to be stripped for recycling. 90% of what we collect is recycled, and working items go for reuse where possible.
Getting an odd appliance out and away
Many appliances on this page are light enough for one person, but the crew is still two people so nothing is rushed down a staircase. A single oven out of its housing is heavier than it looks, with a steel cavity and a glass door, and it is carried flat between the two of them. A freestanding cooker hood has a chimney section and sometimes a glass canopy, so the parts are kept together and stood upright in the van. Loose glass turntables and oven shelves are carried on their own so they do not slide about.
The crew does not disconnect anything, so have the appliance ready before we arrive. Plug-in items just need unplugging and emptying of food, crumbs or water. A built-in oven or microwave must already be out of its unit, a hard-wired oven needs a qualified electrician to disconnect it, and a gas oven must be disconnected and capped by a Gas Safe registered engineer, as the law requires for gas work. A hood should be off the wall with its ducting detached. Where something is still fitted, ask your electrician or fitter to free it first, because we will not unscrew, cut or remove fitted units.
After collection everything is handled as waste electrical and electronic equipment and goes to a licensed waste transfer station or treatment facility. Small items are shredded and sorted, so steel, aluminium and the copper in cables and motors are recovered and the plastics are separated. Glass from oven doors and microwave turntables is taken out first. An appliance that still works and is in decent condition may be passed on for reuse where possible.

Appliance disposal questions
Will you collect a single microwave?
Yes. A microwave on its own is a normal job, and it still gets two people and a van. Send a photo and we send a fixed price for that one item.
I do not know what the appliance is called. Can you still price it?
Yes. Send a photo and a line about where it is in the house. We can usually tell what it is from the picture, and you do not need a make or model.
Can you take a built-in oven or microwave?
Yes, once it is out of the cabinet. The crew will not unscrew it from the housing or cut anything out. If it is hard-wired, a qualified electrician needs to disconnect it before we come.
Do you collect fridges or freezers?
No, we do not collect them.
Can I put a small appliance in the bin?
No. Electrical items, even small ones, should be kept out of general waste and the household bin so they can be recycled. Your local tip usually has an electricals area, or we can collect it along with anything else that is going.
Can several small appliances go on one price?
Yes. Put them all in one photo, or send a few pictures together, and we reply with one fixed price. A microwave, a mini oven and a toaster can all go in the same visit.
Send a photo of the appliance and get a price back
Use the form above, or send the picture to hello@appliance-removal.co.uk. We reply with a fixed price and the earliest slot we have.
